Solution

This post incorporates SEO principals to boost the hypothetical pet store’s organic marketing. Phrases such as the title, “teaching your dog not to dig through the trash”, and “dog’s signs of boredom” (amongst others) are long tail phrases that people are searching online, increasing the article’s chances of coming up in relevant searches.

I personalize the topic with relevant, relatable examples (eg: how the reader would feel without entertainment every day) and specific behaviors the reader may have experienced (such as their dog digging through the trash or barking excessively during the day). This empowers the reader to better identify if these issues relate to them.

I’ve underlined some words throughout the post (separation anxiety, word buttons, etc) to show the opportunity to create and link to more blog content in the future. This would encourage readers to explore related content and stay on the site.

In the scope of the overarching content strategy, this blog post is meant to educate the pet owner on whether boredom is an issue for their dog. The next blog in the hypothetical series will introduce solutions, especially targeting dog parents who do not have the time or ability to take their dog on a long walk every day. That article will present the opportunity to link to relevant products to boost sales.
